Sustainability & World Without Waste:

We recognize our responsibility to help solve the global plastic waste crisis. That’s why in 2018 we launched World Without Waste, an ambitious, sustainable packaging initiative that will help create a circular economy where the materials in our packaging can be used again and again.

World Without Waste has signaled a renewed focus on our entire packaging lifecycle—from how bottles and cans are designed and produced to how they’re collected, recycled and repurposed. Learn more.

100% rPET:

• This spring, The Coca-Cola Company will expand its portfolio of 100% recycled plastic* 20-oz bottles for Coca-Cola Trademark products (Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero and Coke flavors) nationwide, being the first beverage company to achieve national adoption of 100% recycled plastic* bottles for a sparkling brand across the United States.

• The Coca-Cola Company is continuously striving to broaden its adoption of recycled packaging material with additional plans this year for smartwater to be introduced in 100% recycled plastic (excluding caps and labels) in 20-oz across New York and California. The Coca-Cola Company has also set an ambitious target to introduce 100% recycled plastic bottles across its entire 20-oz sparkling portfolio (excluding caps and labels), including Sprite, Fanta and Fresca in 2025.

• With the national availability of 100% recycled plastic bottles across the iconic 20-oz Coca-Cola trademark portfolio (excluding caps and labels) and regional expansion of smartwater packaging, the company expects to reduce its use of new plastic by more than 83 million pounds in 2024 – the equivalent of approximately 2 billion bottles.

• These are natural next steps for The Coca-Cola Company in their mission toward 50% recycled content in all bottles and cans by 2030, a key pillar of their World Without Waste goals, while concurrently supporting a successful value chain, pipeline and collections process across the country.
